What is Salvia Divinorum?
Salvia Divinorum is a psychoactive plant that comes from South-Mexico, it contains the strongest plant-based hallucinogen known to man, Salvinorin A.
Salvia Divinorum is one of the only members in the Lamiaceae-family tree that contains Salvinorine A, out of a group with 800+ plants.
Often referred to as Sage of the diviners, Seer’s Sage, Salvia of the ghosts, or simply Salvia.
Origin
This Salvia originates from Sierra Mazateca in the state of Oaxaca, South-Mexico.
The first documentation of the plant was in 1939 by Jean Basset Johnson but long before that Salvia Divinorum was and is still used by Mazatec shamans to facilitate visions for shamans or to carry out ritual healing. Mazatec shamans only use fresh leaves for their rituals.
Salvia Divinorum effects
The leaves of Salvia Divinorum contain psychoactive compounds that can induce heavy hallucinations for example you can come in an altered state of consciousness, out-of-body experiences, and there are even reports of people living in another “dimension or world” for years where they build up a life with a family and friends, and then out of nowhere, they snap back to reality. In their minds, they lived another life for months or even years, and then they come back realizing they were only tripping for about 15 minutes.
